Your video stays on your device

TellYourGospelStory is designed from the ground up with your privacy in mind. Your video is recorded, processed, and saved entirely on your device. We do not upload, store, or have any access to your video at any point. When you choose to share it, that is entirely your decision and under your control.

Audio transcription

To identify filler words like “um” and “uh,” your audio is briefly sent to a third-party transcription service (Groq, using OpenAI's Whisper model). This audio is used only to generate a timestamped transcript so the app knows where to make edits. It is analyzed in real time and immediately discarded. Nothing is stored or retained by the transcription service, and we do not store it either.

Your video itself never leaves your device unless you choose to share it. Only the audio portion is sent to the transcription service, only for the purpose of filler detection, and only when you tap “Clean Up Video.”

No account required

TellYourGospelStory does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information. We do not collect your name, email address, or any identifying information.

No analytics or tracking

We do not use advertising trackers, behavioral analytics, or third-party cookies. We do not build a profile of you or your usage.

Video metadata

We do not embed location data, device identifiers, or any other metadata into your video. However, we recommend being aware that some platforms you choose to share to may handle metadata differently. It is worth checking the privacy settings of any platform before sharing.

Internet connection

Recording and saving your video works without an internet connection. The AI cleanup step requires a brief internet connection to send your audio to the transcription service. If you are offline, the cleanup step will not run.
