Is my video stored anywhere?
No. Your video never leaves your device. It is recorded, processed, and saved entirely on your phone. We do not store, upload, or have access to your video at any point.
What happens to my audio?
To identify filler words like "um" and "uh," your audio is briefly sent to a secure transcription service. It is analyzed and immediately discarded. Nothing is stored or retained. Your video itself stays on your device the entire time.
Why didn't it catch every "um" or "uh"?
Our AI catches most filler sounds, but not every one. Background noise, speaking style, and how clearly a sound is spoken all affect detection. Think of it as a helpful self-edit, not a perfect one, and most of the time the result is noticeably cleaner than what you started with.
Why does the cut sometimes look a little jarring?
When a filler word is removed, the app smoothly blends the two sides of the cut together. But if you move your hands or shift position right at that moment, the transition can be noticeable. The best results come from sitting still and keeping the camera steady while you record.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Partially. Recording and saving work offline. However, the AI cleanup step requires a brief internet connection to analyze your audio. If you're offline, the cleanup step won't run.
How long can my testimony be?
We recommend keeping it under three minutes. Shorter testimonies are easier to watch, easier to share, and tend to have more impact. The app is designed with that in mind.
Can I use a video I already recorded?
At this time the app is designed for recording directly in the app. Support for importing existing videos may be added in a future version.
Is this app free?
Yes, completely free. No account required, no subscription, no hidden fees.
What devices does it work on?
TellYourGospelStory works on any modern smartphone or tablet with a camera and a browser. It is optimized for iPhone but works on Android as well. You can also use it on a desktop computer, though it is designed primarily for mobile.
